1. Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct reflects the core values of West Coast Swing Luxembourg a.s.b.l., setting practical and ethical standards that all participants must agree to in order to take part in our activities.
1.1. Safe Environment
We believe in creating a welcoming and safe environment where everyone can enjoy a positive experience, explore, learn, express themselves, dance freely, and feel safe. We do not tolerate any form of harassment or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, social origin, physical appearance, body shape or size, or any other ground.
Violence of any kind will not be tolerated. All participants in West Coast Swing Luxembourg activities—including organizers, volunteers, teachers, and dancers—are required to agree with and adhere to this Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code at all events, and participants must cooperate to ensure that everyone feels safe and can enjoy their experience.
If something goes wrong, please don’t hesitate to approach the event organizers or teachers. West Coast Swing Luxembourg reserves the right to deny access to any activities should the Code of Conduct be violated. Please note that no refunds will be issued in such circumstances.
1.2. Be a Good Dance Partner
Please respect other dancers and their boundaries. Everyone has the right to choose when, with whom, and how they wish to dance. If someone declines an invitation to dance, accept it graciously—no justification is required. Additionally, anyone is free to stop a dance midway, without needing to offer an explanation.
Pay attention to your dance partner’s well-being. If they seem uncomfortable, fatigued, or in pain, ask if they’d like to take a break or if there’s anything you can do to help. Always check whether your partner is comfortable with close embraces, dips, or lifts before attempting them.
Be mindful of the dance floor. Avoid big moves, aerials, or large dips and lifts during social dances. Save these for jam circles, competitions, or designated practice times. Accidents happen—if you accidentally hurt someone, apologize immediately and make sure they are alright.
2. Disclaimer
West Coast Swing Luxembourg a.s.b.l. declines all responsibility for accidents or injuries that may occur during our workshops, courses, practice sessions, or parties. Participation is at your own risk. We encourage all participants to take care of their personal safety and well-being.
3. Ticket Resellers
We’ve noticed that some people were trying to resell tickets for some of our events. Please be aware that tickets are only valid if purchased directly from us. Payment at the venue is by cash or by Payconic. Payment by bank transfer is to the West Coast Swing Luxembourg a.s.b.l. bank account. If you buy a ticket from an unofficial source, it might not be valid, and you could be denied entry. We want to ensure everyone has a great experience at the event—please stay safe and avoid unauthorized sellers.
4. Event Cancellation Policy
West Coast Swing Luxembourg a.s.b.l. reserves the right to cancel any event up to one month before its scheduled date if the number of registrants is less than half of the venue’s capacity. For events held in Room Rheinsheim at Altrimenti, with a maximum capacity of 70 dancers, this means a minimum of 35 registrants is required to proceed. Should a cancellation occur, registered participants will be promptly informed, and refunds will be issued for any payments made. We thank you for your understanding and encourage early registration to ensure events can proceed as planned.
5. Music Licensing & Compliance with SACEM
West Coast Swing Luxembourg a.s.b.l. is fully committed to ensuring that all music played during our parties is properly licensed. We take the necessary steps to comply with SACEM regulations to ensure that the music used at our events is legally authorized. By doing so, we support artists' rights and adhere to the legal requirements for hosting dance events.
